The Reader

For 15-year-old Michael, a chance meeting with an older woman leads to far more than he ever imagined. Before long they embark on a passionate, clandestine love affair which leaves Michael both euphoric and confused. For Hanna is not all she seems.

Years later, as a law student observing a trial in Germany, Michael is shocked to find Hanna in the dock. The woman he loved is a war criminal. Much about her behaviour dur
ing the trial does not make sense. Hanna must answer for a horrible crime, but she is desperately concealing an even deeper secret...

It is a pretty but poor story. Michael
always face hesitation in the issues with Hanna. He can save her from hell in many situation but he hesitated. He may save her from suffering, but who knows when even he saved her, she may still facing another suffering......it may be the fate of Hanna.....

Chapter 10 is the most touching, in which talking about the prison governor brought Michael to the place where Hanna lives in the prison, after her death, and showed what she encountered/faced/ learned & looked forward to during the 18 years imprison live there.
